It has a "hunger", which gives Kevin a desire to use it.

Defining Traits: It's rare to find Kevin smiling and his face is usually gaunt and sullen from lack of proper nutrition.
Clothing Styles/Colors: With his unfortunate and unique circumstance, Kevin must wear clothing only made of inorganic materials, such as polyester or plastic. Due to this he mostly wears clothing that will cover his entire body, such as long sleeved shirts, long pants, gloves and a trenchcoat that goes to his ankles. Appropriately, all of Kevin's clothing are also completely black.

Brief Personal History: Born in Atlanta, Georgia to a Trevor and Angela Ford, Kevin Ford's mutant ability to decay organic matter first manifested in a tragic way. In his early teens, Kevin discovered that small things were decaying around him, first grass and flowers, then the clothing on his back. His father tried to comfort him, but was inadvertedly attacked by Kevin's powers. As Trevor Ford collapsed, Kevin tried to revive him, continuing contact until his mutant power killed his father. Kevin fled and eventually took refuge in a junkyard where he found that his ability did not affect the metal that surrounded him. When he was attacked by a guard dog, it met the same fate as Kevin's father. The men at the junkyard tried to punish the dangerous mutant and would have beat him to death if not for the arrival of Emma Frost, who brought Kevin to Xavier's.

Kevin was given special synthetic clothing and metallic furniture, but still felt like an outsider in Xavier's. He found it impossible to make friends and only was only ever really to talk to Emma who had saved his life. Once when the school was under attack, Kevin lashed out and began rotting the flesh off of the enemies, until one of the X-Men used their powers to stop him. Fearing the enjoyment he got from attacking, as well as lacking trust in the X-Men, Kevin decided to leave the school.

A few months later, Emma hunted Kevin down and found him working in a junkyard, where he rarely touched organic material. While Kevin was still angry at the X-Men, Emma managed to persuade him to return and begin seeing a therapist to cope with his powers. Shortly after he returned to the school he was arrested by the FBI for killing his father and was brought to prison to wait for a trial. Though Emma thought he should not go with them, other teachers said that he must to prove that mutants were not above the law. He was released and found innocent as it was an accident, but Kevin however saw this as the final straw and continues to contemplate running away from the mansion altogether.

Extra: It isn't easy to be a young boy with the knowledge that you accidentally killed your father forever hanging over your head. It's rare to find a smile on Kevin's face and though there are some that he will speak to, it is not often that people can get close to him. Kevin suffers knowing that he will never be able to touch anyone's skin with his own without killing them. He is very quiet and often keeps to himself, but if bothered enough he will make conversation. He is terribly lonely and does everything he can to keep himself emotionally cut off from everyone else. He is constantly afraid of touching anyone or being touched when it isn't deserved. He always feels like he doesn't belong wherever he goes, but every once in a while he will find someone he feels he can be friends with from a distance. It's the hardest when Kevin finds girls physically attractive and knows he can never be with them or touch them and it eats him away inside. Sometimes, rather, most of the time, Kevin prays that his power will someday work on him and he will decay and be released from his misery. Though not exactly suicidal, Kevin has more than once contemplated the idea of killing himself. He has also considered killing everyone around him. So far he has not gone through with either of these. He knows there is something wrong with him inside and out, but doesn't know how to act in the world with it. All he knows is that he has to stay away from everyone and them away from him. The only thing that makes him happy is working with metal sculptures and making beautiful things out of ugly things.
